How to Configure UCSD VPN on Mac OS
Follow these steps to connect your Mac OS X 10.10.x and above to the UCSD VPN.

Notes:
- You must be login to your computer or laptop with administrator rights.
- To use any Cisco Connect client, the computer must be running 10.10.x and above. Older operating systems are not supported.
- You need your Active Directory (AD) username and password. If you forget your AD username or password, you can reset it easily go to this link https://adweb.ucsd.edu/adpass/ or contact your UCSD department's system administrator.

Uninstalling the Old Client
Follow these steps to uninstall the older versions (Remember This will require restarting your computer)
- 1st of All Go to your Applications folder in Mac OS
- After Locate then double-click on the Cisco folder
- Then Double-click on Uninstall AnyConnect Application from Application Folder
- Now click the Uninstall
- Now Enter the administrator password of your computer
- You will then see a message saying that "AnyConnect has been uninstalled".
- Then you will see a message saying that the AnyConnect has been uninstalled successfully.
- Now click the close button.
- After the closing now restarts your computer.
Download the UCSD VPN for Intel
- Download the UCSD VPN AnyConnect client for Intel (login must be required).
- Note: Only Mac OS 64-bit is supported from 10.15 and later or Minimum MacOS for this version is 10.13
- The Support for Mac OS 10.13 will end in November 2020
- Now Save the client on your desktop.
- After complete, the downloading process, double-click the anyconnect-macOS-4.9.05042-core-VPN-web deploy-k9.pkg installation file. The AnyConnect icon shown below will appear on your desktop.
- Double-click the AnyConnect drive image.
Run the Installation Package of UCSD VPN
Double-click the AnyConnect file inside of the desktop
Begin the installation of UCSD VPN
- Now Click the Continue button to begin the installation.
- When prompted, then click Continue.
Accept the License Agreement of UCSD VPN
- Now click the Continue Button.
- When the Software License Agreement window appears, click Agree to accept.
Continue the Installation
- Now click the Continue.
- Then Click Install Software Button.
- If prompted, enter your administrative username and password.
Finish the Installation
When you see the Installation was successful (The Software was installed) pop-up window, click Close to continue.
Run the AnyConnect Client
After the successfully installed the UCSD VPN the Go to the Cisco folder in Applications and double-click the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client.
Authenticate with UCSD VPN using DUO 2-Step Authentication
- In the first window, enter vpn.ucsd.edu in the box and click the "Connect" button on the right.
- Another window will appear. Select your desired connection profile from the Group drop-down menu
- Use it when accessing 2-step secure library resources and CMS website staging links. This is the preferred method.
- Step 2 Secure - Distributed - Campus traffic route via UCSD VPN only. All other traffic passes through your normal internet provider.
- In the Username field, enter your Active Directory (AD) username
- In the Passcode field, use the following to verify the DUO (see the two-step login for more details: VPN):
- If you receive DUO Push notifications on your mobile phone, enter your password, push
- If you receive a DUO phone call to confirm, enter your password, phone
- If you use a DUO token to enter a passcode with a 6-digit passcode then click ok
How to Disconnect Cisco Anyconnect UCSD VPN
After complete your work when you want to disconnect the UCSD VPN: Go-to your desktop top right corner right click on AnyConnect icon and select Quit or Disconnect option then you will be disconnected from UCSD VPN.
